An experienced storyteller, Angela is based in New York City. A writer, brand voice strategist, and podcaster-in all her creative work she is interested in telling honest stories in imaginative and unexpected ways.
Focusing on the arts…
Her theater training is based in interdisciplinary and ensemble based work. She writes extremely creative, darkly humorous plays inspired by social issues and science. She has an MFA in Theater from Sarah Lawrence College and her work has been produced in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, and Asheville. Highlights include being a finalist for the Jerome Fellowship, a finalist in Samuel French’s OOB Short Play Festival, and foolsFURY’s world premiere production of her play Faulted. After a medical emergency, she ventured into nonfiction. Her first personal essay submission was published by Exposition Review and has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
Being a multidisciplinary artist, she has also performed, directed, and taught theater. Acting credits include Port Out, Starboard Home at ZSpace (SF) and LaMaMa (NYC); her solo show The Unfelt Wonder at FURY Factory (SF); a role in the film Know How. She has developed curriculum and taught drama and playwriting at schools in the Bronx, Westchester County, throughout Vermont with Northern Stage, and as a volunteer teaching artist with The Possibility Project (NYC).
And now to her professional career…
Originally from Los Angeles, she started her professional career in San Francisco after graduating with BAs in English and Theater from Saint Mary’s College of California. Her first position was as Producer and Company Manager for foolsFURY Theater and her first project was to produce a two-week national ensemble festival. She went on to produce two world-premieres, numerous workshops, an award-winning fringe show, and the company’s first tour to New York City. Responsible for the company’s marketing, accounting, legal, and production needs gave her the diverse skill set she has applied to numerous positions in a wide range of sectors.
After moving to New York City, she was able to work in fast-paced C-level support positions in hospitals, hedge funds, a beauty manufacturing company, and a social impact marketing agency. In recent years, she has done accounting for a construction company that builds cultural centers in the Tri-State area. In the nonprofit sector, she has done marketing for Chautauqua Theater Company; created social media campaigns with CavanKerry Press; facilitated a nutrition education program with Food Bank for New York City; and as Director of Administration at Concordia, a high-profile politically focused nonprofit, she created original infrastructures and procedures.
And about podcasting…
Experienced in marketing and sound design, she produced the first season of How You Can Save the World, a podcast about environmental sustainability. She went on to launch And Then Suddenly in September 2018.
A weekly program that asks a diverse group of guests about one moment that turned their lives upside down, Angela wears the hats of producer, host marketer, and editor. Since its launch, the podcast has been downloaded thousands of times and announced a special series of episodes in partnership with Voice, an international grant organization working to amplify and connect thus far unheard voices in efforts to leave no one behind.
